About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where four friends kept arguing about which games were worth the storage space. At some point we figured we might as well write it down properly, so here we are. We're a small independent team, not tied to any studio or publisher.
Every game we cover gets real playtime on a range of devices, from an aging mid-range handset to something newer. That matters, because a game that runs beautifully on flagship hardware can stutter and drain your battery on the phone most people actually own. We note that stuff.
We pick games by a mix of curiosity and reader suggestions. Sometimes it's a big release everyone's talking about, sometimes it's a quiet little thing that deserves more attention. We avoid anything built around gambling mechanics — that's just not what we do here.
Nobody pays us to say nice things. If a game frustrates us, we say so. If it surprises us, we say that too. The goal is simple: help you decide before you spend your time and your battery on it.
